Administration sets up special counters for faster enrollment Under Mukhya Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana

Ludhiana, February 27, 2026: In a proactive step to accelerate the enrollment of families under the flagship Mukhya Mantri Sehat Bima Yojana (MMSBY), the district administration has established dedicated special counters in the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Complex, offices of Sub-Divisional Magistrates (SDMs), and Tehsils to make the registration process more seamless, hassle-free, and accessible for residents.
The move aims to expedite enrollment and ensure that maximum number of eligible families benefit from this universal health insurance scheme without delay. As part of on-going efforts, 72 camps have already been organized under the scheme in various parts of Ludhiana district, where enrollment is being carried out progressively and enthusiastically.
Under MMSBY, launched by the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, every bonafide resident family of Punjab is entitled to cashless medical treatment up to Rs 10 lakh per year. This substantial coverage provides a robust financial safety net, especially for expensive secondary and tertiary treatments, including hospitalization, surgeries, diagnostics, and over 2,500 medical procedures at empanelled government and private hospitals across the state and Chandigarh. The scheme is universal with no income limit—any Punjab resident possessing an Aadhaar card linked with a mobile number and a voter ID card can enroll instantly at designated Common Service Centres (CSCs), special counters, or camps. For any family member below 18 years of age, a birth certificate is compulsory.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain urged all eligible families to visit the nearest special counter or camp without delay.
