Counting Staff Training is going on.

Nawanshahr, March 4, 2022: The district administration on Friday organized a training session for the election staff to be deployed for the counting of the votes in three of the assembly segments Banga, Nawanshahr and Balachaur
on March 10.

Disclosing further information, Deputy Commissioner-cum- District Election Officer Vishesh Sarangal said that SDMs Navneet Kaur Bal, Dr Baljinder Singh Dhillon and District Master Trainer Surinder Agnihotri apprised the election staff about the important points to be followed involving the counting of votes.

He said that both SDMs detailed them about the method of counting votes from the Electronic Voting Machines.

He further said that the counting of votes for Balachaur constituency would be held in Baba Balraj Punjab University Constituent College, For Banga assembly, it would take place in Guru Nanak College for Women and similarly for Nawanshahr, the counting would be held in Doaba College of Engineering & Technology, Chhokran, Rahon amid the presence of the candidates and representatives of the political parties.

Sarangal said that counting of votes would start at 8 am on March 10 and around 300 counting staff would be deputed in the counting centres for smooth conduct of operations.

He said that during the counting, the staff would be divided into teams with four members on each table and 14 tables would be set up.

He said that no stone would be left unturned to ensure that the counting gets completed in a peaceful and transparent manner with strict adherence to the the guidelines of the Election Commission of India.

The Deputy Commissioner said that rehearsals and the training programs are being organized for the counting staff to ensure that they can perform their duties efficaciously on that day and they must have not any kind of doubt in their minds about their duty.

He said that elaborate security arrangements including heavy deployment of cops, CAPF personnel, videography would be done by the district administration during the counting and reiterated that every members of counting teams must part take in the rehearsals.

He told that next training for the counting staff would be held on March 8.
