Activities to Commemorate 75th Independence Anniversary by NSS Unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College

jalandhar: NSS unit of Lyallpur Khalsa College, Jalandhar is organizing a series of multi dimensional events to commemorate 75th Indian Independence Anniversary in 2021. As per the direction of Dept. of Higher Education, Punjab, a series of events was planned by NSS unit of the college in March-April, 2021.

Principal Dr. Gurpinder Singh Samra, in inaugural webinar on 12th March, 2021, appealed the volunteers to celebrate Indian Independence with enthusiasm and learn how to contribute their part in the development of the country. He also motivated students to serve the country as a patriot by staying in the country. He also suggested some innovative events to be organized. Chief Program Officer Satpal Singh informed that 09 events like Lecture on Yoga, Webinar on Balanced Diet, Panel discussion on Importance of freedom and how to maintain individual independence, Online Survey related to cleanliness and saving natural resources, Poster making Competition, PPT making and presentation, Before and After caption related to Swacchh Bharat, Tree/Sapling plantation campaign, Yoga Asana Contest are conducted successfully. Remaining events like ‘A Thing I can Teach You in 03 Minutes’ and Quiz related to independence struggle are pending. The series will culminate on the eve of Independence day with a Panel Discussion on Atam Nirbhar Bharat and Role of Youth by volunteers and students. The unique thing to notice in these events is that the various roles to organize like hosting, anchoring, report writing, online registration etc. are performed by volunteers. The focus of these events is to make students aware of Indian independence struggle, igniting the feeling of true patriotism and making them aware of their duties toward environment and preparing them as future leaders. Prof. Satpal Singh told that Program officers Dr. Amandeep Kaur, Prof. Navneet Arora and Prof. Priyank Sharda are guiding the volunteers to successfully complete these events.
