Rohtak, September 7, 2026: In today’s highly competitive environment, academic knowledge alone is not enough to succeed, MDU Registrar Prof. Sandeep Bansal said on Monday, stressing the need for students to develop professional skills such as confidence, effective communication, presentation and interview techniques.
Prof. Bansal was addressing students at the inauguration of a week-long employability skills training programme at the Centre for Medical Biotechnology (CMBT), Maharshi Dayanand University. He urged students to participate actively in the programme and make the most of the opportunities provided to enhance their professional capabilities.
CCPC Director Prof. Divya Malhan said such programmes play an important role in the overall professional development of students. She said the training would cover life skills, soft skills, communication skills, presentation skills and interview skills.
CMBT Director Dr. Hari Mohan said that along with academic qualifications, confidence, effective communication and professional skills are essential for building a successful career. Dr. Mehak Dangi, Director, Centre for Bioinformatics, also encouraged students to take full advantage of the training.
On the first day, Nandi Foundation Master Trainer Ravinder Singh interacted with the students and shared valuable insights on employability skills and professional preparedness.
Prof. Vijay Kumar, Prof. Amita Suneja, Dr. Rashmi Bhardwaj, Dr. Anil Kumar and Prof. Ajit Kumar, along with other faculty members, students and research scholars, attended the programme.
Organised by CMBT under the aegis of CCPC in collaboration with Mahindra Pride Classroom, the training programme will continue till September 12. Final-year students of CMBT, the Centre for Bioinformatics and the Department of Biochemistry are participating in the programme.
