AAP’s Arora Crosses 12,000-Mark, Ashu Overtakes BJP in Round 5
With the completion of the fifth round of counting in the Ludhiana (West) Assembly by-election, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora continues to lead with a total of 12,320 votes, after adding 2,055 votes in this round.

Ludhiana, June 23, 2025: With the completion of the fifth round of counting in the Ludhiana (West) Assembly by-election, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora continues to lead with a total of 12,320 votes, after adding 2,055 votes in this round.
Congress candidate Bharat Bhushan Ashu is now firmly in second place, having secured 2,395 votes in Round 5, bringing his total to 9,816 votes. BJP’s Jiwan Gupta, who received 1,638 votes in this round, has a cumulative total of 8,831 votes, now trailing the Congress.
Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) candidate Advocate Parupkar Singh Ghuman garnered 241 votes in Round 5, reaching a total of 2,959 votes.
