AAP Hits Back at Sukhbir Badal: People of Ludhiana Are Happy, Only Land Mafia Are Troubled

Chandigarh, May 20, 2025: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) delivered a sharp rebuttal to Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) President Sukhbir Badal’s statement regarding the AAP government’s decision to develop an Urban Estate in Ludhiana.
AAP Punjab leader and senior spokesperson Neel Garg stated that the people of Ludhiana are delighted with the decision as it will ensure affordable housing for them. He added that the farmers in the area are also pleased because urbanization will significantly increase the value of their land.
He further pointed out that the only ones having trouble with this decision are the land mafia, fraudulent builders, and corrupt leaders. "The AAP government does not make decisions for personal gains of politicians or to support corruption. This is why those who thrived on scams and frauds related to land dealings are now worried. This time, they won’t get any benefits," Garg said.
Challenging Sukhbir Badal, Neel Garg asked, “If ordinary people and farmers are not troubled, why does it bother you?” He appealed to Badal not to obstruct this initiative, which is aimed at Punjab’s development and the housing needs of millions in Ludhiana.
Garg further stated that Badal should rise above politics and support the government’s decision to address the housing and other challenges faced by Ludhiana’s residents due to the rapidly growing population.
