Ludhiana, April 25, 2026: National BJP leader, Advocate Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal Bhukhri Kalan today expressed his heartfelt appreciation and warm welcome to the seven prominent Rajya Sabha Members from Punjab Raghav Chadha, Ashok Mittal, Sandeep Pathak, Rajinder Gupta, Vikramjeet Singh Sahney, Swati Maliwal and Harbhajan Singh who have shown courage, clarity and commitment by aligning with the Bharatiya Janata Party.
Grewal wrote on his social media platforms, especially on X, that this is not merely a political shift but a powerful message of truth prevailing over illusion, of conviction triumphing over confusion and of nationalism rising above opportunistic politics. He said that the people of Punjab and the entire nation are witnessing a historic ideological correction where leaders are choosing development, stability and transparent governance over hollow narratives and inconsistent stands.
Grewal said that the journey of the Aam Aadmi Party, once projected as a symbol of honesty, simplicity and revolution, has unfortunately transformed into a prolonged political drama filled with contradictions, compromises and broken promises. He said that what began as a movement from the dust of Ramlila Maidan under the inspiration of Anna Hazare, with Arvind Kejriwal as its prominent face, gradually drifted away from its foundational ideals.
He said that the initial cracks appeared when activism turned into politics and ideals were replaced by strategies of power. Grewal said that the separation of paths between Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal symbolized the beginning of this transformation. He further stated that alliances once strongly opposed became politically convenient and the language of moral absolutism slowly gave way to selective silence and tactical adjustments.
Grewal said that the contradictions within AAP continued to deepen from attacking established leaders to later aligning with them, from making serious allegations to quietly withdrawing them, and from promising clean governance to facing allegations and controversies that contradicted their own core narrative. He said that this pattern of a storm of allegations followed by silence in resolution has raised serious questions about credibility and consistency.
He said that the internal structure of AAP, which once claimed to uphold internal democracy, witnessed the marginalization and exit of several strong voices, creating an environment where dissent was discouraged rather than respected. Grewal emphasized that such developments are deeply ironic for a party that once criticized “high command culture” in other political formations.
Grewal said that the recent developments involving leaders like Raghav Chadha, Swati Maliwal and Harbhajan Singh, along with others, are not routine political changes but significant indications of a deeper ideological collapse within the Aam Aadmi Party. He said that when committed individuals begin to walk away from a movement, it reflects not just personal decisions but a broader loss of faith in the direction of that movement.
He further said that the shift of these respected Members of Parliament towards the BJP represents a renewed faith in the visionary leadership of Narendra Modi and the decisive governance framework led by Amit Shah. He said that BJP today stands as a symbol of stability, development, nationalism and accountable governance.
Grewal said that he wholeheartedly appreciates and welcomes these leaders into the BJP family with respect, dignity and optimism. He said that their experience, intellect and public service commitment will further strengthen the party’s mission of nation building and public welfare.
Grewal said that history will judge political journeys not by the noise they create but by the values they uphold. He said that the story of AAP from ‘jugaad’ to ‘jhaadu’ may ultimately be remembered not as a successful revolution but as an incomplete promise, while the path of the BJP is a path of continuous service, dedication and nation building.
He said that this moment marks not an end but a new beginning a decisive step towards truth, transparency and transformative governance for Punjab and for India.
