A Salute Beyond Service: ECHS Polyclinic Inaugurated At Brahmpur- A Lifeline For Veterans, A Tribute To Their Sacrifice

Jalandhar, July 23, 2025: In a moving affirmation of the Nation's enduring bond with its soldiers, a new Ex-Servicemen Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS) Polyclinic was inaugurated today at Brahmpur, Una District. The event marked not just the opening of a healthcare facility, but a heartfelt tribute to India's Veterans the silent sentinels of our Nation's freedom.
 
Lieutenant General Ajay Chandpuria, AVSM, VSM, General Officer Commanding. Vajra Corps, dedicated the polyclinic to the community amidst a poignant gathering of Veterans, Veer Naris, Serving Officers, and Civil dignitaries.
 
With this landmark addition, Una has become the first district in India to host two operational ECHS polyclinics a powerful testament to the Indian Army's unwavering commitment to care for its own, long after the uniform is retired.
 
The new polyclinic stands as a beacon of gratitude and responsibility, bringing essential medical care closer to the homes of those who once stood steadfast on the Nation's frontlines. Fully equipped for outpatient care, diagnostics and streamlined referrals to empanelled hospitals, it promises to significantly enhance healthcare access for Veterans and their families in the region.
 
Speaking on the occasion, Lt Gen Chandpuria paid rich homage to the courage and sacrifice of Veterans and Veer Naris, reaffirming the Army's sacred duty toward their lifelong welfare.
 
"The uniform may retire, but the bond never does. The Indian Army will always stand by its Veterans - with respect, care and gratitude,” he said.
 
The event witnessed an outpouring of pride and emotion from the Veteran community, who hailed the initiative as a long-overdue gesture of recognition and care. Their presence echoed the deep and lasting connect between the Armed Forces and those who have served.
 
Also gracing the occasion were Brigadier Sujit Narain, YSM, SM, Secretary. Rajya Sainik Board, Delhi, Senior Military Leaders; Veteran Association Representatives and members of the civil administration - all united by a shared purpose to honour and uphold the dignity of India's ex-servicemen.
