77th Republic Day celebrated at RCF Kapurthala
The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Stadium of Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. On this occasion, the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Ravi Kumar, hoisted the National Flag, followed by a march past in which the Railway Protection Force, St. John Ambulance Brigade, and school contingents participated.
Kapurthala, January 27, 2026: The 77th Republic Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and pride at Maharaja Ranjit Singh Stadium of Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. On this occasion, the Principal Chief Mechanical Engineer, Ravi Kumar, hoisted the National Flag, followed by a march past in which the Railway Protection Force, St. John Ambulance Brigade, and school contingents participated.
On this occasion, Ravi Kumar extended his heartfelt greetings to all present on the occasion of Republic Day. Elaborating on the achievements of Rail Coach Factory, he stated that RCF has performed commendably in all fields and is steadily moving towards achieving its production targets in the current financial year. This year, RCF has achieved the production milestone of 48,000 coaches. By manufacturing several new types of railway coaches, RCF has earned a distinct reputation across the country.
RCF’s contribution to railway rolling stock expansion is highly significant. At present, Vande Bharat rake is being manufactured at RCF. This advanced rake is equipped with the latest technology, improved design, higher energy efficiency, and advanced safety systems. Keeping passenger comfort in mind, it offer improved interiors, modern seating arrangements, advanced toilets, smart information systems, and an overall more comfortable travel experience. It is firmly believed that this upgraded Vande Bharat rake will take Indian Railways to new heights and will usher in a new era of fast, safe, and comfortable travel for passengers. The manufacturing work is progressing at a fast pace, and the rake is expected to be seen running on the tracks in the coming days.
RCF has so far successfully manufactured 11 Amrit Bharat rakes. Additionally, during the current financial year, 4 more Amrit Bharat rakes are planned to be manufactured, and the work on these is progressing rapidly. He further stated that in this financial year, RCF is moving forward with full determination to surpass its record production of 2102 coaches.
Ravi Kumar also appreciated the outstanding work carried out by various departments during the year. He said that office work at Rail Coach Factory is now being carried out in a digital manner. The RCF administration is also committed to the good health of its employees and their families, and for this purpose, additional doctors have been appointed in the hospital. The Civil Department is actively engaged in the maintenance of the entire campus and in keeping it green and well-maintained. RCF is also continuously achieving success in the field of sports.
The function was attended by office bearers of the RCF Women Welfare Organization, all major departmental heads and HODs, as well as members of various unions and organizations, besides a large number of visitors. Ravi Kumar also presented awards to employees and officers for their excellent performance. In addition, children who performed exceptionally well in academics were honored by the Women Welfare Organization.
After the ceremony, Meenu Narula, Vice President of the RCF Women Welfare Organization, along with its members, visited the RCF Hospital, where they distributed gifts to patients. On the occasion of Republic Day, the Administrative Building, all roundabouts, the lake complex, buildings of major institutions, and the entry gates of RCF were decorated with colorful illuminations.
