75 Students Trained in Drone Technology and Aeromodelling at CT Group's Two-Day Hands-on Workshop
Sessions Cover UAV Fundamentals, Flight Operations and Practical Skill-Building
Jalandhar, September 20, 2026: CT Institute of Technology and Research (CTITR), Maqsudan, Jalandhar, successfully organised a Two-Day Hands-on Workshop on Drones and Aeromodelling, featuring sessions covering UAV fundamentals, flight operations and practical skill-building. The workshop was organised by the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and Department of Mechanical Engineering to provide students with practical exposure to drone technology, aeromodelling, aircraft fundamentals and basic flight operations.
The workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from 75 students from Engineering, Computer Applications and CT Public School. The first day introduced participants to the fundamentals of aircraft and drone technology, covering key concepts such as lift, thrust, drag, weight, stability and control surfaces. Students also learned about different types of drones, their applications and essential components, including motors, propellers, Electronic Speed Controllers (ESCs), flight controllers, batteries, transmitters, receivers and sensors.
The second day focused on hands-on aeromodelling and flight demonstrations. Students learned about aerodynamic design, model materials, wing and fuselage assembly, balance and stability, flight-control concepts and model launching techniques. As part of the practical activity, participants constructed a functional air glider, followed by a live Air Glider Fly Show, demonstrating the practical application of aerodynamic and flight principles.
Dr. Anurag Sharma, Campus Director, CT Group of Institutions, Maqsudan, appreciated the enthusiastic participation of students and encouraged them to continue exploring innovative fields through practical learning experiences.
The workshop provided students with valuable exposure to aircraft flight principles, drone technology, UAV systems, aerodynamics, propulsion, aeromodelling and flight operations. It also encouraged them to explore future opportunities in UAV technology, aerospace engineering, aviation and aeromodelling.
The two-day initiative successfully combined technical knowledge, hands-on learning, model making and live demonstrations, offering students an engaging and experiential platform to understand the practical applications of emerging technologies.
