Bengaluru, April 8, 2024: “The Golden Jubilee year is a milestone year for IIM Bangalore, an Institute which is sure to have many more milestones. This is the time for you all to reflect upon the changes happening around the globe in the last few decades and what is in store in the next few decades,” said Chief Guest T V Narendran, Chief Executive Officer & Managing Director, Tata Steel, during his address at IIM Bangalore’s Convocation ceremony, this evening.

IIMB hosted its 49th Convocation on 6th April 2024. Degrees were awarded to the students of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme and the MBA programmes – the Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM), Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP), Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGP-BA) and Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP), in the presence of the Chairperson of the Board of Governors, Board Members, Director, Deans, faculty, alumni and staff of the Institute.

This year, IIM Bangalore has introduced the Institute Research Award for a graduating student of the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme, which includes a cash prize of INR 1.75 lakh, certificate and memento. The Convocation awards also included gold medals for the graduating MBA students for First Rank and Second Rank, and Best All Round Performance.

A total of 706 students from various programmes graduated this evening. The programme-wise details are as follows: 22 Doctoral Programme (PhD) students; 78 from Post Graduate Programme in Enterprise Management (PGPEM); 76 from Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP); 47 from Post Graduate Programme in Business Analytics (PGP-BA), and 483 from the Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGP).

The celebratory ceremony saw the proud families of the graduating students cheering them on their very important milestone marking the completion of their academic journey and the beginning of a new chapter in their lives.
