Ludhiana, September 8, 2021: Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the district administration has received a fresh stock of 70000 doses on Wednesday morning and all doses would be utilized within 24-hours to ensure further speedy coverage of the remaining population in the district.

Addressing the residents in his weekly Facebook Live session on the official page of DPRO Ludhiana, Deputy Commissioner said that around 22.60 lakh people have so far been vaccinated in the district and it has become possible due to sheer commitment of doctors, paramedics and all others who have been working at the forefront since January 16, 2021 when this inoculation drive was started.

He lauded their indomitable spirit in this vaccination campaign and making Ludhiana a champion in the fight against the largest epidemic in last 100 years.

He said that vaccine is the only way to combat the virus and this would help society to return to normalcy soon. He added that district administration will leave no stone unturned by vaccinating every eligible before the advent of the anticipated third wave.

Deputy Commissioner also asked the people to continue to observe Covid-19 appropriate behaviour including wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and observing hand hygiene despite getting both doses of Covid-19 vaccine otherwise lax attitude will certainly invite the third wave of the pandemic.

Answering a query, he said that those who are not receiving the message on their registered mobile numbers after receiving the shot must contact nearby government health centre or hospital.
