44th North Zone Orthopedic Association (NJACON 2026) begins in UHSR
The three-day long 44th North Zone Orthopedic Association (NJACON 2026), organized by the Department of Orthopedics, began at the Sushruta Auditorium of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences. Six workshops were held at two venues on the first day. The theme of the conference - "Express, Educate, Evolve," is aimed to share the latest technologies and research in the field of orthopedics.
Rohtak, February 13, 2026: The three-day long 44th North Zone Orthopedic Association (NJACON 2026), organized by the Department of Orthopedics, began at the Sushruta Auditorium of Pandit Bhagwat Dayal Sharma University of Health Sciences. Six workshops were held at two venues on the first day. The theme of the conference - "Express, Educate, Evolve," is aimed to share the latest technologies and research in the field of orthopedics.
Talking to media persons, Dr. Roop Singh (HOD, Orthopedics, PGIMS) said that the first day of NJACON witnessed the workshops including cadaveric and saw bone workshops. In these workshops, experts provided training on advanced knee arthroscopy, revision knee arthroplasty, pelvi-acetabular trauma, high tibial osteotomy, and spine fixation.
Dr. Ashish Devgan said that the event showcased the latest equipment and techniques in orthopedic surgery, with special emphasis on spinal surgery and knee arthroplasty. 500 participants, including orthopedic specialists and medical students from India and abroad, are participating in the program.
Dr. Devgan said that different practical experience and case studies are emphasized in different workshops. The conference ending on 15th February, aims to promote education and research in the field of orthopedics.
Dr. Umesh Yadav said that experts in various sessions addressed various aspects of revision arthroplasty, including identifying causes of failure, radiological evaluation, and managing bone loss. The workshop concluded with a certificate distribution and feedback session, where participants shared their experiences.
Dr. Yadav said that two hands-on saw-bone modules were also conducted during the workshop, where surgeons practiced techniques such as implant removal and joint line restoration.
