38th Modern Rural Mini Olympics: Jarkhar Games Scheduled for February 13–15, 2026

Ludhiana: The Mata Sahib Kaur Sports Charitable Trust, Village Jarkhar, will organize the annual GST Truck Permit, Avon Cycle, 38th Modern Rural Mini Olympics Jarkhar Games from February 13 to 15, 2026.
In the final ceremony of the Jarkhar Games on February 15 at 1:00 PM, seven distinguished personalities will be specially honoured. These include Former Punjab DGP and sports promoter Chandrashekhar will be conferred the “Khed Promoter Amarpal Grewal Award", Padma Shri Baldev Singh will receive the “Bhagat Puran Singh Award", Prabhdeep Singh Nathowal, Deputy Director, Department of Information and Public Relations will be honoured with the “Pride of Punjab Award", Simranjit Kaur Gill, Pro Vice Chancellor, CT University, Ludhiana will receive the “Pride of Punjab’s Daughters Award", Journalist Davinderpal Singh Chandigarh will be awarded the “Pride of Punjab Journalism Award", Cyclist Harshvir Singh Sekhon will be honoured with the “Olympian Surjit Singh Randhawa Award", Veteran hockey player Karamjit Singh Grewal (USA) will receive the “Olympian Prithipal Singh Award". This decision was taken in the meeting of the Jarkhar Games Trust held today.
After the meeting at Jarkhar Games Stadium, Chairman Narinder Pal Singh Sidhu (former AIG) and Chief Organizer Jagroop Singh Jarkhar informed that the main attractions of these games will include the Mahinder Pratap Singh Grewal Hockey Gold Cup and the Naib Singh Grewal Jodha Kabaddi Cup. The competitions will feature Hockey for boys and girls, Hockey Under-17 boys, Open Kabaddi, Kabaddi for seniors (50+ years) Dharma Singh Jarkhar Kabaddi Cup, Kabaddi in memory of Amarpal Grewal, Football (60 kg boys and Under-19 girls), Tug-of-war (senior category) in memory of Baba Surjan Singh Sarinh, Various events for primary school children including races, kabaddi (primary school level), tug-of-war and other activities. Only teams with invitation letters will be allowed to participate.
President Advocate Harkamal Singh and Manmohan Grewal Mohna Jodha (Seattle) stated that the primary objective of the Jarkhar Games is to promote a drug-free society.
They added that the opening ceremony will be spectacular, featuring cultural songs and choreography by children from the Dragon Academy, a special song on Jarkhar Games performed by folk singer Jaswant Sandila, and other cultural presentations as major highlights.
On the final day, February 15 at 2:00 PM, an open cultural program will be organized with renowned folk singers including Satwinder Bitti, Jaswant Sandila, Neetu Virk, Gurjaan and others.
