34th District Badminton Championship begins; 500 Players to Showcase Their Prowess in Thrilling Matches

These views were expressed by social worker Preeti Bansal while serving as the Chief Guest at the inaugural session of the 34th District Badminton Championship, organized by the District Badminton Association (DBA), Rohtak. Held under the aegis of the District Badminton Association (DBA), Rohtak, the 34th District Badminton Championship commenced on Friday at the local SRS Public School, situated at the IMT. Ajay Singhania, Vice President of the Badminton Association of India, graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour.
Addressing the participants, Ajay Singhania remarked that badminton players from Haryana are consistently bringing laurels to the state by winning medals in various competitions at both national and international levels. He also provided details regarding the initiatives being undertaken by the HBA (Haryana Badminton Association) and BAI (Badminton Association of India) for the welfare of the players, while extending his best wishes to all participants. The Chief Guest and the Guest of Honour formally inaugurated the championship by playing an opening match alongside the players.
Earlier, DBA President Yashpal Singh Panwar welcomed the guests and honored them by presenting them with mementos.
DBA President Panwar informed that the opening day of the championship featured preliminary qualifying matches for boys and girls across the Under-09, Under-11, Under-13, and Under-15 age categories. Approximately 500 players are set to showcase their skills and prowess throughout this five-day tournament. The winners from the various categories will go on to represent District Rohtak in the upcoming state-level badminton championship.
Present at the inaugural session were DBA Treasurer Rajendra Malik, Tournament Coordinator Ritesh Dalal, Secretary Umed Sharma, Hariom Chandel, Girish Saini, Dr. Neeraj Malik, Dr. Sumit Sharma, Rishiraj, Pawan Solanki, and Gulshan Bajaj, along with players, parents, and sports enthusiasts from the city.
