3-day state Judo championship starts
Judokas from senior category take part 3-day state Judo championship 2020-21 which commenced at Sports Complex, Sector 34 in Chandigarh on Friday.

Chandigarh: The 3-day Chandigarh state Judo championship 2020-21 commenced at Sports Complex, Sector 34 here on Friday.
 
Rajya Sabha MP Partap Singh Bajwa the president of the Judo Federation of India (JFI) inaugurated the championship. Around 200 judokas including boys and girls are taking part in all the weight categories in sub-junior, cadet, junior and senior categories.

On the first day the matches of boys and girls senior category were held.

Meanwhile the championship is being organized by Amateur Judo Association of Chandigarh, which is affiliated to Judo Federation of India. It is being sponsored by Chandigarh based and Asia’s leading laminates company, Stylam Industries Ltd under its CSR initiatives to promote sports at grass root level.

During the occasion, among others Manav Gupta, director of Stylam, Rajpal Chauhan and NS Thakur, president and secretary of Amateur Judo Association of Chandigarh respectively were also present.
