29 Flood Protection Schemes amounting to approx. ₹53 crore approved for the Rohtak District in a Meeting Chaired by the CM Nayab Singh Saini

In the 57th meeting of the Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board held in Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, approval has been granted for 29 flood protection schemes in the district for the year 2025–26. An amount of more than ₹53 crore will be spent on these works. Deputy Commissioners and officers of other concerned departments from across the state joined the meeting through video conference.

Rohtak, December 31, 2025: In the 57th meeting of the Haryana State Drought Relief and Flood Control Board held in Chandigarh under the chairmanship of Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, approval has been granted for 29 flood protection schemes in the district for the year 2025–26. An amount of more than ₹53 crore will be spent on these works. Deputy Commissioners and officers of other concerned departments from across the state joined the meeting through video conference.

Rohtak Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta joined the meeting along with other concerned officers from the video conference hall at the local Mini Secretariat. He said that the Board has approved 29 flood protection schemes sent by the district administration for flood management in the district. More than ₹53 crore will be spent on these works, and upon completion, these schemes will help prevent water logging in the district.

The Deputy Commissioner said that under these flood protection schemes, underground RCC pipelines will be laid for drainage of floodwater from the low-lying areas of villages Bhaini Surjan, Bhaini Chandrapal and Saman, at a cost of more than ₹12.37 crore. Construction of an RCC protective wall in various sloughing stretches of the Meham Drain in village Bainsi to protect agricultural land and inhabited areas will be undertaken at a cost of ₹4.95 crore. For protection of the inhabited area of village Mokhra Kheri, an RCC protective wall will be constructed on the left bank of the Madina Link Drain from RD 0 to 2280 at a cost of ₹3.19 crore.

He further informed that more than ₹2.68 crore will be spent on laying RCC pipelines for floodwater drainage in village Bhaini Mato, while ₹2.37 crore will be spent on laying RCC pipelines for flood water drainage in village Saman. An amount of ₹3.15 crore will be spent on laying a pipeline up to the Paksma Drain. For flood water drainage from the catchment area of the Aasan Link Drain and construction of a pump house at RD 24000 (tail), ₹3.87 crore will be spent. An amount of ₹1.34 crore will be spent on laying a pipeline for floodwater drainage from the low-lying area of village Farmana Khas.

DC Sachin Gupta said that ₹1.06 crore will be spent on laying RCC underground pipelines for flood water drainage from the catchment area of village Behlba and construction of a sump well at RD 82150/R of the Meham Drain. Similarly, ₹1.06 crore will be spent on construction of an RCC trough from Government College to the outfall in Khani Link Drain for protection of the inhabited area of village Jasia.

He further said that for flood protection works at RD 81000 and 86000 (pipeline) of the Shaheedi Park Meham Drain, ₹1.50 crore will be spent on the supply, installation and commissioning of new pumps and two sump wells. In village Saman, ₹1.35 crore will be spent on replacement, installation and commissioning of new pumps in the first, second and third phases at RD 32250 of the Jui Feeder for flood protection.

The Deputy Commissioner said that in other flood protection measures, more than ₹69 lakh will be spent on laying underground pipelines for flood water drainage from the low-lying agricultural fields of village Nandal. Other works include supply, installation and commissioning of one 5-cusec capacity pump (with motor and panel) and two 10-cusec capacity VT pumps at the sump well on Balliana Road Paksma Drain in village Paksma, and supply, installation and commissioning of 5/10-cusec capacity VT pumps near Kharkhoda Bypass in villages Sampla and Chuliyana.

He added that these works also include supply, installation and commissioning of 5/10-cusec capacity VT pumps (with motor and panel) at various temporary sites in villages Bhaloth, Kiloi, Aasan and Dhamar; supply, installation and commissioning of five 5-cusec capacity VT pumps (with motor and panel) at RD 18000-R of the Gandhra Drain (village Ismaila) and RD 33600-R of the Dulheda Distributary (village Chuliyana); supply, installation and commissioning of four 5-cusec capacity VT pumps (with motor and panel) at various temporary sites at Kharawad RD 20200-Left and Dulheda Distributary (Left and Right); and construction of an RCC trough from RD 1100 to 1750 of the Rohtak Link Drain in the inhabited area of village Shimli.

DC Sachin Gupta further said that approval has also been granted for supply, installation and commissioning of new pumps for flood protection on the RCC pipeline of the Jui Feeder in village Bhaini Surjan (all phases), procurement of HDPE pipes for flood water drainage in Rohtak, laying of underground pipelines for flood water drainage from the catchment area of the Aasan Link Drain and construction of a pump house at RD 24000 (tail), laying of underground pipelines for flood water drainage from the low-lying areas of villages Ladhout and Kansala, and laying of pipelines for flood water drainage from low-lying agricultural fields and protection of inhabited areas in village Anwal.

He said that these flood protection works also include laying of HDPE pipelines for flood water drainage from the low-lying areas of village Masudpur; laying of a 250 mm diameter HDPE pipeline through an already laid RCC pipeline for floodwater drainage from the low-lying areas of village Baland into the ditch drain along the Jalandhar Canal; laying of HDPE underground pipelines for flood water drainage from the low-lying area of Bhaini Chandrapal Road; and laying of HDPE underground pipelines for flood water drainage from the low-lying agricultural fields of village Bhaini Maharajpur.

The meeting was attended by SE (Irrigation) Balraj, SE (Public Health) Shivraj, DRO Pramod Chahal, X.Ens Arun Munjal, Rajiv Rathi, Rajesh Bhardwaj, Sanjeev Kumar, Sandeep Singh, and other concerned officers.
