As many as 1449 employees of various government departments who have been drafted for election duties, exercised their right to franchise through postal ballot on Sunday.

Ludhiana, May 26, 2024: As many as 1449 employees of various government departments who have been drafted for election duties, exercised their right to franchise through postal ballot on Sunday. 

The postal facilitation centres were set up at rehearsal venues where they exercised their right to franchise after the training. 
District Election Officer Sakshi Sawhney said that as per details, 94 employees in Khanna, 170 in Samrala, 72 in Ludhiana East, 110 in Ludhiana South, 64 in Atam Nagar, 115 in Ludhiana North, 93 in Ludhiana west, 173 in Ludhiana central, 158 in Gill, 119 in Payal, 71 in Dakha, 122 in Raikot and 88 in Jagraon assembly segments of district cast their votes using postal ballot. 

Sawhney said that the SDM-cum-Assistant Returning Officers were asked to ensure that no body left behind to exercise his/her franchise before discharging his/her election duty. She further said that most of those who had opted to fill form 12, following which the postal ballots were issued to them, have used their voting right today, during the third polling  training.  

To facilitate these employees, voting compartments were set up at training centers, today, added Sawhney and said if someone could not use his/her voting right today, he/she can cast his/her vote during last training on May 31.
