13th Chrysanthemum Exhibition organized by Horticulture Division of Panjab University

Chandigarh, December 15, 2022: The 13th Chrysanthemum Exhibition organized by Horticulture Division of Panjab University in Prof. R.C. Paul Rose Garden, Panjab University, Chandigarh was inaugurated today by Prof. Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Panjab University.
 
The exhibition was attended by eminent officers and academicians of the University. Prof. Renu Vig, Dean of University Instruction; Prof. Yojna Rawat, Director, Research & Development Cell; Prof. Promila Pathak, Dean Student Welfare (W); Prof. Sushil Kumar Kansal, Dean International Students; Prof. Prashant Gautam, Director Sports; Prof. Sukhbir Kaur; Dr. Gaurav Gaur; Dr. Parveen Goyal and other fellows of Panjab University; Prof. Y.P. Verma, Registrar,. Prof. Jagat Bhushan, Controller of Examinations; CA Vikram Nayyar, Finance & Development Officer; Dr. Parminder Duggal, Principal, Ankur School; Wardens of hostels and members of teaching & non-teaching unions were also present at the event. The event was well attended and appreciated by faculty members, non teaching employees, students and general public. They were deeply impressed with the exhibits displayed at the venue.
 
There were about 20 arrangements at the exhibition. The exhibition had about 123 varieties of Chrysanthemum and about 2300 potted plants. Seven new varieties were displayed this year. The visitors appreciated these arrangements and were seen getting their photographs clicked with these arrangements and fountains.
 
Prof. Raj Kumar, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor appreciated the efforts of the Horticulture Division, Panjab University and congratulated the staff of the Division. He addressed the workers of Horticulture Division and said that the appreciation that University receives due to its well landscaped Campus is the result of their hard work. He further encouraged them to keep working diligently to make Campus cleaner & greener.

Er. Anil Thakur, Divisional Engineer (Hort.) apprised those present that like previous years, this 13th edition of Chrysanthemum Exhibition has been organised by the Horticulture Division to mark the advent of spring season.

Simultaneously, it gives a message of environment protection to the masses and an opportunity to display the best  Chrysanthemum collection of Horticulture Division which have been nurtured with hard work all through the year.
