115 examined in knee, joint problems camp at Ambala City

As many as 115 people were examined during a free knee and joint problems camp at Bala Jee Hospital, Ambala City on Sunday. The camp was organized by  Ivy Hospital, Mohali in association with Rotary Club Ambala Diamond, Ambala City.

Ambala, July 16, 2023: As many as 115 people were examined during a free knee and joint problems camp at Bala Jee Hospital, Ambala City on Sunday. The camp was organized by  Ivy Hospital, Mohali in association with Rotary Club Ambala Diamond, Ambala City.

During the camp, Dr. Bhanu Pratap Singh Saluja, director of orthopaedics & joint replacement at Ivy Institute of Orthopaedics and Joint Replacement consulted people for their various ortho related problems.

During the occasion, Rtn Arun Mongia district governor, Rtn Manoj Goyal president Rotary Club Ambala Diamond and Rtn Deepak Goyal, Secretary of Rotary Club Ambala Diamond were also present.

The people also availed the facilities of free tests of blood pressure and sugar and x-ray during the camp.  

Speaking during the occasion, Dr. Bhanu said, “Knee related problems are on rise with more and more people falling prey to various diseases related to knees.  The bad eating habits and faulty lifestyles are the main reasons behind rising cases of knee problem in Punjab.”

Dr Bhanu further said that one can avoid knee problems by simply adhering to a healthy lifestyle and doing some physical exercises.

“The incidence of knee arthritis among Indians is 15 times higher than that in Western nations. This is because of the genetic predisposition of Indians towards knee arthritis, and a lifestyle that results in overuse of the knee joints,” he said.

The incidence of knee arthritis in the Indian population is believed to be as much as 15 times higher than what is found in western nations, added Dr. Bhanu.
