Ambala: As many as 100 patients were examined during a free urology and nephrology screening camp at Park Healing Touch Hospital, Ambala.
Urological experts at the camp noted that prostate enlargement and kidney stones remain two of the most common urological problems in North India, especially among the aging male population.
Dr. Tejender Pal Singh Khurana consultant urology and Dr. Jyoti Aggarwal consultant nephrology gave medical consultations to the patients during the camp.
The camp also featured on-the-spot urine tests, blood pressure screenings, personalized dietary advice, and interactive awareness talks.
Talking about holmium laser technology, Dr. Khurana said that it’s a minimally invasive method for treating urinary stones and enlarged prostate. It is safer and more precise compared to older methods, and is rapidly becoming the gold standard in advanced urological care, he asserted.
It delivers highly focused energy with shallow penetration, enabling precise incisions, smooth tissue vaporization, and faster recovery. It’s currently one of the most advanced tools available in urology, he informed.
Dr. Jyoti Aggarwal also highlighted the growing burden of chronic kidney disease and the urgent need for early screening, especially for individuals with diabetes or hypertension.
She said, “Early-stage kidney disease often goes undetected. Regular check-ups and basic preventive steps can help avoid dialysis or transplant later.”
