Khangura family joins Capt Sandhu’s election campaign in Dakha

Dakha, October 8, 2019: Senior Congress leader and former legislator Jassi Khangura and his father Jagpal Singh Khangura today joined the campaign of party candidate Capt Sandeep Singh Sandhu after specially arriving for the purpose from London. Talking to reporters Jagpal Khangura, who commands immense respect and influence in the entire constituency, said that he had specially flown from London to campaign for Capt Sandhu despite ill health. The senior Khangura said, he was not keeping well and despite doctors in London advising him not to travel, he decided to come here to ensure a landslide victory for Capt Sandhu. “Take my word, Capt Sandhu will win from Dakha by a margin of at least 30,000 votes”, he told reporters, while adding, people of Dakha know that such golden chances to elected a ruling party candidate do not come very often. Capt Sandhu said, he was feeling grateful and indebted to Khangura family, particularly Jagapal Singh Khangura that despite his age and ill health he has actively joined his campaign. “The entire Congress leadership of Dakha including Malkiat Singh Dakha, Jassi Khangural, Amrik Singh Aliwal, Major Singh Bhaini, KK Bawa and others have given me lot of confidence and boosted my morale”, he said and added that all of them were handling it as their personal election campaign. The Congress candidate reiterated that each and every leader and worker of Dakha will feel the difference after the elections are over. “Not me, but all of you will be legislators of this constituency and every officer whether from police or the civil administration will be accountable to you”, he assured the workers, while pointing out, that was the real democracy. Capt Sandhu took a dig at his political opponents saying they were resorting to fake and frivolous complaints in sheer frustration. He also dismissed their claims about differences within the Congress party. “Let the Akalis take care of their own candidate and the party and let them leave Congress concerns to Congress leaders”, he said in response to a question that Akalis were claiming that Congress was a divided house in Dakha.
