Harjot Kaur, an NSS Volunteer of PAU, selected for the Republic Day Parade and Camp to be held in New Delhi

Ludhiana, December 26, 2017: Ms Harjot Kaur, an NSS Volunteer of Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), has been selected for the Republic Day Parade and Camp to be held in New Delhi. She will be a part of the NSS contingent which will parade on Rajpath and give salute to the National Flag and the President of India. She is the first NSS volunteer of PAU to have been selected for such a camp. For her selection, Harjot took part in Pre-RD selection camp, held at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, on October 11. After being selected, she took part in Pre-RD camp, held at CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, from October 25 to November 3, where a total of 200 NSS volunteers from five states and two Union Territories were trained and evaluated for their parade, volunteership, cultural skills and general behaviour. Harjot Kaur is one of the three female volunteers, who will represent Punjab state in the national parade. She attributed her success to her mentor and trainer Mr Asish, Student Coordinator of NSS Unit, PAU. She also expressed her gratitude to Programme Officer, Dr Madhu Sharma and Programme Coordinator, Dr Harmeet for their support and hard work. The Vice-Chancellor, Dr B.S. Dhillon and Director Students’ Welfare, Dr R.K. Dhaliwal applauded Harjot for this achievement. She will participate in the RD Parade Camp in Delhi from January 1 to January 30, 2018.
