Zonal Municipal Commissioner Neeraj Jain Visits CICU Complex to Address Industrial Issues

Ludhiana, November 06, 2025: The Zonal Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Ludhiana (MCL), Neeraj Jain, visited the CICU Focal Point Complex to hold a detailed interaction with industrialists and address long-pending civic and infrastructure-related issues faced by industries in the Focal Point area.
The meeting was organized by the Chamber of Industrial and Commercial Undertakings (CICU) under the leadership of Upkar Singh Ahuja, President, CICU. A large number of prominent industrialists and representatives of industry associations participated in the discussion. During the meeting, Upkar Singh Ahuja shared collective feedback from the industrial community and raised key concerns regarding roads, lighting, sanitation, and maintenance. He requested the Zonal Commissioner to allot all the industrial parks to respective industries so that they can maintain them independently. This, he said, would allow the MCL to utilize its limited funds more effectively for other essential works such as road repairs, street lighting, and drainage infrastructure across Ludhiana.
Ram Lubhaya from Sonu Exports drew attention to the poor condition of roads near Jeevan Nagar Chowk and the lack of maintenance in surrounding parks, which have become a major concern for the area. Sh. Rahul Ahuja from the Apex Chamber of Commerce highlighted the urgent need for streetlights in dark and accident-prone spots within the Focal Point. He also suggested that the MCL deploy compactors rotationally in hotspot locations to ensure effective garbage collection and cleanliness across industrial zones. T.R. Mishra from Mishra Boilers raised the issue of sewage blockage and poor drainage systems, which are adversely affecting industrial operations and leaving a negative impression on buyers visiting from other states and abroad. Ishwar Singh from Ajaib International pointed out the problem of unauthorized garbage dumping in the Focal Point area, stating that private vehicles bearing MCL markings are often seen dumping waste at these sites, effectively turning parts of the industrial area into unofficial dumping grounds. Several other prominent industrialists including Rakesh Sachdeva (Diana Mining Equipments), Sanjay Dhiman (DAV Engineering), Ravinder Saini (Saini Tech), and Akashdeep & Amandeep Bassi (Cos Heatreats) also participated and shared their on-ground experiences.
Responding to the issues, Zonal Commissioner Sh. Neeraj Jain assured the industrialists that all concerns would be addressed on a priority basis. He emphasized that MCL is committed to improving industrial infrastructure and creating a clean and efficient environment for Ludhiana’s manufacturing sector. He also shared his contact details with the members, encouraging them to reach out directly for any civic grievances related to industrial zones. In his concluding remarks,  Upkar Singh Ahuja, along with Rahul Ahuja (Apex Chamber) and Honey Sethi, General Secretary of CICU, extended heartfelt thanks to Neeraj Jain for taking time to engage directly with the industrial community and for his assurance of timely redressal. The meeting reinforced the joint commitment of industry and MCL to work collaboratively toward a cleaner, better-connected, and more sustainable industrial ecosystem in Ludhiana.
