Ludhiana, August 28, 2025: The State Election Commission, Punjab, has announced an extension for filing claims and objections for the upcoming General Elections to Zila Parishads and Panchayat Samitis, scheduled to be held by October 5, 2025.
The new deadline for submitting claims and objections is September 3, 2025.
Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain informed that residents can file their claims and objections until September 3, 2025, with all submissions to be disposed off by September 8, 2025. The final electoral rolls will be published on September 9, 2025.
To ensure a smooth and inclusive electoral process, the Deputy Commissioner directed all Electoral Registration Officers-cum-Sub Divisional Magistrates to strictly adhere to the revised schedule. This will enable all eligible voters in the Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti constituencies to participate without hindrance.
