Ludhiana, March 6, 2026: Acting on the directions of Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian and Chief Administrator Sandeep Kumar, the Greater Ludhiana Area Development Authority (GLADA) is enforcing a strict zero-tolerance policy against unauthorized and unplanned development.
GLADA has issued two notices for unauthorized constructions. Both notices were issued on March 3.
Chief Administrator Sandeep Kumar also appealed to the general public to undertake all construction strictly in accordance with building plans approved by the competent authority. Any violation of the sanctioned plan will result in cancellation of the approved building plan and action as per applicable rules and regulations, including sealing and demolition. The full responsibility for such violations—and any resulting consequences—rests solely with the builder/owner.
GLADA Additional Chief Administrator Vikas Hira reiterated that, in addition to ongoing demolition campaigns, the authority will initiate strict legal proceedings against individuals or entities involved in unauthorized development across district.
