Yudh Nashyan Virudh': MLA Bagga holds meeting with ward defence committees; seek maximum public participation to eradicate drug menace
Sr Dy Mayor, councillors among other members of defence committee participate in meeting
Ludhiana, November 7, 2025: Moving forward with the agenda to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Ludhiana North MLA Madan Lal Bagga addressed a meeting of ward defence committees formed under 'Yudh Nashyan Virudh' campaign of the state government at Dr Ambedkar Bhawan near Jalandhar bypass on Friday.
Senior Deputy Mayor Rakesh Prashar, councillor Aman Bagga, councillor Pushpinder Bhanot, councillor Manjit Singh Dhillon, councillor Neeraj Ahuja, Ashok Kumar, Rajinder Bali among others participated in the meeting. MC Joint Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, ACP Central Anil Bhanot, Superintendent Ashok Garg among other officials were also present in the meeting.
The agenda of the meeting was to ensure maximum participation of residents at ground level. The members of the committees were urged to monitor and report any drug-related activities in their area to the police or the public representatives. The identity of the residents will be kept confidential.
MLA Bagga further stated that they are also helping the drug addicts in getting treatment through improved facilities at the drug de-addiction and rehabilitation centres.
While addressing the members of ward defence committees, MLA Bagga emphasized that the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Singh Mann, has taken a zero-tolerance policy against the menace of drugs and no stone is being left unturned to make Punjab a drug-free state.
MLA Bagga further highlighted the government's commitment to eradicating drugs, stating that anyone involved in drug trafficking will not be spared, regardless of their position or affiliation.
