Yudh Nashya Virudh- Nasha Mukti Yatra: MLAs unite in decisive fight against drug menace
In a major push to eradicate the drug menace in Punjab under Yudh Nashya Virudh, Ludhiana MLAs led the Nasha Mukti Yatra, a transformative campaign under the Punjab government’s Yudh Nashya Virudh initiative, into their constituencies on Sunday with large number of people joining the grassroots campaign.

Ludhiana, May 18, 2025: In a major push to eradicate the drug menace in Punjab under Yudh Nashya Virudh, Ludhiana MLAs led the Nasha Mukti Yatra, a transformative campaign under the Punjab government’s Yudh Nashya Virudh initiative, into their constituencies on Sunday with large number of people joining the grassroots campaign.
In their address, MLAs Kulwant Singh Sidhu, Madan Lal Bagga, Daljit Singh Bhola Grewal, Ashok Parashar Pappi, Rajinderpal Kaur Chhina, Hakam Singh Thekedar and others declared the Nasha Mukti Yatra a united front to make Punjab a drug free state.
“This movement is a clarion call for every citizen to join hands and save Punjab’s future from the clutches of drugs,” they affirmed, emphasizing the campaign’s role in empowering locals to combat the drug menace. The MLAs urged residents to report drug traffickers to the police and support individuals struggling with addiction by guiding them toward de-addiction treatment. They further announced that the government is committed to providing skill development programs for those undergoing treatment, enabling them to lead healthy, productive lives and reintegrate seamlessly into society.
The MLAs highlighted the Punjab government’s aggressive measures, including the crackdown on the traffickers and the demolition of their illicit properties, marking a historic crackdown on drug networks. They also reiterated Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s stern warning to drug peddlers to leave Punjab otherwise strictest action will be ensured against them.
The MLAs also administered an oath to the people, rallying them to ensure the Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign’s resounding success through widespread participation and unwavering commitment.
