Ludhiana, May 18, 2025: Punjab Housing and Urban Development Minister Hardeep Singh Mundian on Sunday hailed the Nasha Mukti Yatra as a revolutionary movement, galvanizing masses to join the Punjab government’s Yudh Nashya Virudh campaign to eradicate the drug menace.
Speaking at Nasha Mukti Yatra gatherings in Jandiali, Kohara and Bhairomunna villages, Cabinet Minister pledged an unwavering commitment to rooting out drugs and ensuring justice for traffickers. He highlighted the government’s aggressive campaign to dismantle drug networks and bulldozing their illegally amassed properties, a ground-breaking move in Punjab’s history. He called Nasha Mukti Yatra, a visionary initiative to empower locals to tackle the drug crisis at the grassroots. Condemning past governments for colluding with traffickers for political benefits, the Minister urged collective action to secure the campaign’s victory.
At these events, Mundian led participants in a solemn oath to serve as protectors of their communities, vowing to eliminate the drug scourge. He issued a bold ultimatum to drug peddlers: “Abandon your trade or leave Punjab.” Reinforcing Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann’s directive, he stressed that the police have been granted full authority to act, with numerous peddlers already incarcerated.
