Yudh Nashya Virudh: Drug peddler’s Illegal house on MC land demolished in Khanna
No leniency for drug traffickers: SSP Dr. Jyoti Yadav Bains
Ludhiana, November 6, 2025: In a decisive action under the Punjab government’s ‘Yudh Nashya Virudh’ campaign to eradicate drugs from the state, Khanna Police, in collaboration with the Municipal Council team, demolished the illegally constructed house of notorious drug trafficker Vicky, resident of Ward No. 11, Meat Market, currently living in Ward No. 18, Kartar Nagar.
The house was built without any approval from Municipal Council Khanna, in blatant violation of the Municipal Act. Executive Officer Charanjit Singh confirmed that no building plan was ever submitted or sanctioned. Four prior notices were issued under the Act, which went unheeded. On Thursday, with full police support, the illegal construction was razed to the ground.
SSP Khanna Dr. Jyoti Yadav Bains revealed that Vicky has two registered NDPS cases against him and has been actively involved in drug peddling for years. This action sends a clear message that drug peddlers will face the strict action. She emphasized that the state government, under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, has adopted a zero-tolerance policy toward narcotics. She added that police have not been only arresting traffickers and putting them behind bars but are also rehabilitating victims by admitting them to de-addiction centers. So far, 15 such illegal properties built with drug money have been demolished across the district.
Dr. Bains urged citizens to report drug-related activities anonymously via Safe Punjab or Helpline 112, assuring complete confidentiality of informants.
