He was addressing the Yagna and Bhandara program organized at Brahmanand Ashram in Rahra on the occasion of Swami Brahmanand Jayanti.

Karnal, December 24, 2025: Simply taking the Guru's name is not enough; it is essential to incorporate his thoughts into the lives of the new generation. These views were expressed by Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan, Director of the Haryana Institute of Rural Development (HIRD). He was addressing the Yagna and Bhandara program organized at Brahmanand Ashram in Rahra on the occasion of Swami Brahmanand Jayanti.

 

Sohan Singh Rana, representative of the Zila Parishad Chairperson, was also present on the occasion. Sarpanch representative Surendra Singh welcomed Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan and Sohan Singh Rana.

 

HIRD Director Dr. Virender Singh Chauhan said that Swami Brahmanand's entire life was dedicated to Vedic rituals, the Yagna tradition, social awareness, and women's empowerment. He appealed to the villagers to resolve to organize a Yagna every week at the ashram so that this sacred tradition of Sanatan culture continues to flourish. He said that Yagna is not merely a ritual, but a collective process of uniting society, purifying thoughts, and spreading positive energy.

 

Dr. Chauhan said that in today's materialistic age, the thoughts of saints guide society. If we want to make the youth cultured, patriotic, and dutiful, then the ideals of great men like Swami Brahmanand must be integrated into education, family, and social life. He described the strength of the Sanatan tradition as the strength of India's soul.

 

HIRD Director Dr. Chauhan expressed his gratitude to the Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for renaming Swami Brahmanand's ancestral village as ‘Brahmanand Majra’, calling it a historic and far-sighted decision in honor of the saintly tradition.

 

Sohan Singh Rana paid homage to Swami Brahmanand and said that today there is a need to rekindle the light of Sanatan Dharma in every home. He also assured his support for the construction of a kitchen at the ashram. The organizing committee expressed its gratitude to everyone.
