"YAAR BANA BUDDY"- a Famous Play enacted at LPU

Jalandhar, September 25, 2012: Lovely Professional University has  witnessed  mesmerizing comedy theatrics for the play "YAAR BANA BUDDY" at its  crowdedly packed SBRM Auditorium. Famous Bollywood Star Yash Pal Sharma, ‘Rowdy Rathore’ fame, played the lead role, under the banner of Ekjut Theater Group.

Along with him were famous theater stars Sajjad Khan and Rajesh Balwan.   The play was directed by Nadira Zaheer Babbar, wife of reputed Bollywood Star turned Politician RaJ Babbar. Nadira, a reputed theater and Hindi cinema actress,  is also recipient of Sangeet Natak Akademi Award. The play is a light hearted look at a group of friends, who find themselves at crossroads in their life and relationship.

Applauding the great artists, LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal said: “I am really thankful to the Ekjut Theatre group which has enabled LPU students to watch a play, with an underlying message towards  great value of friendship. We think this art form is very important for youth as it accords face to face messages to young men and women.”

He further invited the group for more such plays at the campus for delivering significant communications to shape the students well.In the first half, the play depicts a lot of buffoonery, with great comic scenes. The other half has some serious moments, turning to be message oriented for persons akin to materialistic pursuits.

As per story of the play, two of some friends try hard to snatch, one of their friends, out of the pseudo life of absurd obsession with art collection.  And, presentation towards this makes many unforgettable comic as well as serious scenes. Among the actors, Yashpal Sharma presented  his matchless and exceptional performance, in each and every scene.

On contacting Nadira Babbar and Yashpal Sharma, they had all praise for the young audience  for the play.  For former LPU’s students based audience remained ‘Fit and Large’; whereas, latter appreciated LPU Students for their good flare & support  for Theatrical Pursuits. They both promised to come again at LPU with more theatrical events.
