World Pain Week being sbserved by SPS Apollo Hospitals at Ludhiana on Wednesday.
Ludhiana, October 23 2013: On the occasion of World Pain Week-2013, department of Anaesthesia organised continuing medical education (CME) on post- operative pain management in the hospital premises today.
The CME was formally inaugurated by the Managing Director, Jugdiep Singh and Medical Director, Dr. K.L. Avasthi. Also present on the occasion were Dr. Gaurav Kuthiala, Dr. H.S. Khetarpal, Dr. H.S. Gill and Dr. Vinay Singhal. This one day CME was attended by around 40-50 anaesthetists and pain specialists. The sessions were taken up by the doctors from the hospital focusing on various aspects of post operative pain management, from different perspectives like orthpaedics, gynaecology, neuro surgery etc. The aim of this programme was to bring about awareness about this emerging specialty amongst the doctors and also to demonstrate the newer strategies and therapeutic modalities in combating the menace of acute and intractable chronic pain.
The CME concluded with multi specialty presentations and discussions which was moderated by the panelists. www.cityairnews.com
