World Oral Health Day Celebrations at PGIMS, Rohtak

Rohtak, March 20, 2026: The World Oral Health Day-2026 was celebrated by the Post Graduate Institute of Dental Sciences (PGIDS) at PGIMS, Rohtak. Chief Guests - Director Dr. S.K. Singhal, Dean Dr. Ashok Chauhan, and DSW Dr. Savita Singhal inaugurated the program by lighting the ceremonial lamp.
Director Dr. S.K. Singhal said that it is essential to integrate oral health with general health, and achieving this requires awareness and education at the community level. He urged the students to take initiative in this direction so that a positive change could be brought about within the community.
Dean Dr. Ashok Chauhan emphasized the significance of such programs for promoting oral health education and awareness. DSW Dr. Savita Singhal remarked that awareness regarding oral health can only be effectively enhanced through the active participation of students.
Dr. Manjunath BC, HOD Public Health Dentistry, shared his views on the importance of oral health, stating that regular check-ups and hygiene are indispensable for maintaining good oral health. He laid special emphasis on raising awareness about oral health within the community. He further noted that students actively participated in various activities organized during this period, including street plays, quizzes, and poster-making competitions.
Dr. Bhavna presented a report on the month-long series of programs, which included community health camps, oral health education sessions in schools, and special initiatives for underprivileged sections of society. The event concluded with an awards distribution ceremony and a vote of thanks. Senior officials and faculty members—including Dr. Jigyasa Duhan, Dr. Pankaj Sangwan, Dr. Vipul Yadav, Dr. Anshul, Dr. Mahesh, Dr. Mayank, Dr. Ravinder, and Dr. Harneet—were present on this occasion.
