World malaria week observed at Community Health Centre

Medical Officer Dr Jatinder Singh delivering lecture on World Malaria Week Government Senior Secondary School, Bara Pind.

Phagwara, May 3, 2014: To mark the world malaria week, Community Health Centre (CHC), Bara Pind, today organised a special awareness programme on Malaria under the guidance of Senior Medical Officer Dr Balwinder Singh Kahlon here at Government Senior Secondary School. Speaking on the occasion, Medical Officer Dr Jatinder Singh said that malaria is a parasite disease, which spread by female mosquitoes. “This parasite after entering into human body get multiplied inside liver and patient normally suffer from symptoms of shivering with fever and pain in joints of the body,” he said, adding in this condition patient should immediately consult a doctor.
Block Extension Educator Preetinder Singh urged the students not to allow any collection of water in and around their house and also ask them to cover their bodies especially during the evening.
Principal Gulshan Gidda, Vice-Principal Manjit Singh, Lecturers Jagdeep Kaur and Hardeep Singh were also present on the occasion.
