World Health Day celebrations with theme- ‘Our Planet Our Health’ at Vajra Corps

Jalandhar, April 7, 2022: On World Health Day , to highlight the theme ‘Our Planet Our Health’ and to make the armed forces fraternity aware of the benefits of mental health and social well being, mass awareness activities were planned under the aegis of Vajra Corps at Jalandhar Cantt. The Chief Guest exhorted the participants on immediate actions needed to keep humans and the planet healthy and foster a movement committed to achieving equitable health endeavors without breaching ecological limits.
 
Mrs Rani Sharma, Zonal President Vajra Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA), inaugurated the event by Flagging Off the ‘Run For Heath ’ for station troops and families at Jalandhar Cantt. Motivational posters on health were displayed throughout the route along with theme based audio messages. Handouts to bring home key messages of the day were also distributed to enhance awareness levels. 
 
The run for the noble cause was concluded by an address by Lt Col   Neha Sodhi, Medical Specialist Military Hospital Jalandhar Cantt, who spoke on environment related lifestyle diseases and their mitigation. Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma, General Officer Commanding, Vajra Corps also addressed the gathering imploring all to embrace mitigation  measures towards climate change for better health.
