On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, DMC&H, Ludhiana organized a series of activities to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students.

Ludhiana, June 6, 2026: On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, DMC&H, Ludhiana organized a series of activities to promote environmental awareness and encourage sustainable practices among students.
The event was graced by Bipin Gupta, Secretary, DMC&H Managing Society, Mukesh Verma, Treasurer, DMC&H Managing Society, Dr GS Wander, Principal, DMC&H, Dr Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics, Dr. Sandeep Sharma, Medical Superintendent, Dr Ashima Taneja, Additional Medical Superintendent, Dr Veenu Gupta, Professor & Head, Department of Microbiology, members of Green Initiatives & Environment Club and other faculty members of DMC&H.
Speaking on the occasion, Bipin Gupta, Secretary DMC&H managing society, emphasized the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges and encouraged all students and faculty to adopt eco-friendly practices in their daily lives. He asked all students to plant and nurture at least five trees each, which would add to hundreds of trees, improving air quality, and leave a lasting legacy for future generations.
Principal Dr. GS Wander sensitized students to the role healthcare professionals can play in safeguarding environmental health.  Dr. Sandeep Kaushal, Dean Academics, administered a pledge to contribute towards environmental protection through responsible resource utilization, waste reduction, and continued tree plantation efforts.
Dr. Veenu Gupta, Prof.& Head, Department of Microbiology highlighted the importance of environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, waste management, and climate change mitigation.
To further engage students, activities such as poster/slogan, Rangoli, role play and debate/declamation on environmental themes were organized for students of MBBS batch 2024 & BSc Allied & Healthcare Sciences. The events witnessed enthusiastic participation and showcased innovative ideas for promoting sustainability.
The World Environment Day celebrations served as a reminder that every individual action, however small, can contribute significantly towards building a cleaner, healthier, and more sustainable planet for future generations.
