World Environment Day 2026 was organized at RCF Kapurthala, reaffirming the commitment to making the Earth a better place to live. Based on theme -Inspired by Nature, For Climate. For Our Future, program commenced on 15th May 2026, during which a series of environmental awareness activities and events were organized by RCF Kapurthala.

Kapurthala, June 5, 2026: World Environment Day 2026 was organized at RCF Kapurthala, reaffirming the commitment to making the Earth a better place to live. Based on theme -Inspired by Nature, For Climate. For Our Future, program commenced on 15th May 2026, during which a series of environmental awareness activities and events were organized by RCF Kapurthala.
On the concluding day, an awareness rally was organized by the Bharat Scouts & Guides and the St. John Ambulance Brigade. The rally was flagged off by General Manager, Ajay Nandan, who himself participated in the rally and encouraged participants to contribute actively towards environmental conservation.
Subsequently, a tree plantation drive was conducted within the RCF campus. The General Manager, senior officers, employees and Members of the Women Welfare Organization led by Navita Nandan, its President participated enthusiastically and planted saplings to promote a greener and healthier environment.
The programme culminated with a Valedictory Function organized by the Quality Department, RCF Kapurthala. Ajay Nandan, General Manager, RCF Kapurthala, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Dr. Y. S. Brar, Dean of I.K. Gujral Punjab Technical University, attended as the Guest of Honour.
During the function, Ajay Nandan highlighted the importance of environmental protection and sustainable practices in daily life. He called all participants to work towards preserving nature and ensuring a cleaner, greener future for generations to come.
During the valedictory function, Dr. Y. S. Brar delivered an insightful presentation on the global environmental crisis and emphasized the urgent need to conserve the Earth’s climate and environment through collective action and sustainable practices.
A thought-provoking Nukkad Natak on waste segregation was presented by RCF Cultural society, which effectively conveyed the importance of proper waste management and received enthusiastic appreciation from the audience.
On the occasion, employees and volunteers who had contributed wholeheartedly to the World Environment Day campaign were felicitated with awards by Ajay Nandan, General Manager, RCF Kapurthala and Navita Nandan, President RCFWWO. Winners of the drawing competition, organized for students as part of the celebrations, were also honoured for their creativity and environmental awareness.
A special World Environment Day Selfie Point was set up in RCF, where employees, officers enthusiastically clicked photographs, adding to the festive spirit of the event and helping spread the message of environmental conservation. On this occasion, a Plastic Bottle Crushing Machine was commissioned and pressed into service to facilitate the effective disposal of plastic waste within the RCF campus.
