World Consumer Rights Day celebrated at UBS

Ludhiana, March 15, 2022: University Business School, Panjab University Regional Centre organized a talk by K.K. Kareer, President, District Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission, Ludhiana to celebrate the World Consumer Rights Day. 

The resource person, Kareer was welcomed by Professor Arti Puri, Director, PURC and she introduced the topic to the august audience.

Kareer highlighted that as an individual our needs have evolved and grown and as a result there has been a need felt for a law (revised Consumer Protection Act, 2019) to protect the consumer rights. Further, he emphasized that there has also been an emergent need to make the consumers aware about their rights. Sh. Kareer also discussed the process of filing consumer complaints and the different types of malpractices faced by the consumers nowadays.

The talk was attended by the students of management (MBA) and Law (BA LLB), faculty and staff members. The vote of thanks was extended by Mr. Shashi Kapoor, Coordinator (MBA)
