World Book Day- Need to value importance of books in our life

Today on the eve of World Book Day, Punjab High Court Lawyer - Author, Harpreet Sandhu,  initiated an innovative step to spread the importance of reading books within Ludhiana residents, with launch of online Pictorial Visuals depicting a meaningful message, "Book  Is Life Companion of Wisdom" with backdrop of Books having significant meaning in human life. Harpreet Sandhu himself being author urged city residents that everyone must develop a habit of reading books as they can be best companion especially during this pandemic period, he also shared that books are hard bound drug with no danger of overdose, rather he said that people must read eminent book titled, "Long walk to freedom" - based on the true story of 27 years lockup of Nelson Mandela. Reading books is one of the best habits one can possess and develops your imagination and provides you with a fortune of knowledge.

Though we mark and celebrate this day within our educational institutions but since we are facing the COVID -19 surge lockdown, hence we must carry forward this significant day - emphasizing books as valuable source of knowledge with infinite benefits which enables youngsters to think over subjects of interest, expanding their vocabulary, new writing skills, keeping their working positive and  update with language, expanding their  knowledge.  As due to COVID -19 lockdown this year there will be no functions in school and college libraries so we must emphasize the importance of reading in the minds of readers which can enable them to think over subjects of interest, values and morals of good and humble life which can be the result by becoming book readers, as books certainly generate ideas and meaningful thoughts. Harpreet Sandhu also acknowledged the eminent writers and poets of Punjab for their dedicated valuable contribution in the literary field and who have authored books on numerous subjects having a positive impact within the society, educational institutions and universities. Even Punjab Chief Minister Capt. Amarinder Singh being a eminent Author having authored several books, including, "The Last Sunset: The Rise and Fall of the Lahore Durbar, Honour and Fidelity: India's Military Contribution to the Great War 1914-1918 and The Monsoon War : Young Officer's Reminisce - 1965 India - Pakistan War, which also needs to be acknowledged on this day., Padam Shree Dr. Surjit Patar and prominent Punjabi authors  also need to be acknowledged on World Book Day, who have contributed a major role as Authors of several books on various subjects. stating that, rather Harpreet Sandhu stated books are the only gift in one's house which he can read again and again. Hence reading books during lock down is the best and simple way to utilize time, rather Ludhiana needs to promote Book Stores.
