Ludhiana, April 16, 2026: World Art Day was celebrated with enthusiasm by the Department of Fine Arts, RGC on 15th and 16th April. The students expressed their creativity through a display of the Folk Art of India – Madhubani and Pichwai paintings.
The project was guided by Prof. Tarvinder Kaur, Department of Fine Arts, who firmly believes that art has the power to connect people and create a feeling of harmony and joy. More than 20 students came together to express their hopes and aspirations through the medium of paints and brushes.
They also collaborated on a 'Best Out of Waste' project by making a garden bench out of reclaimed empty paint canisters which were very sturdy and were thrown in the trash.
Principal Dr. Ajit Kaur inaugurated the installation of the bench under the gulmohar trees, and said that the quirky bench was a vibrant addition to the art space of the college. Prof. Tarvinder Kaur added, “Even in the darkest times, your art is a quiet rebellion, a refusal to let the world dim your light.”
