World Antimicrobial Awareness Week observed at DMCH

Ludhiana, November 18, 2021: World Antimicrobial Awareness Week is observed from 18th to 24th November every year. In view of this, the Department of Microbiology at DMCH will organize various activities like quiz and poster making competition for MBBS and Paramedical students, training sessions pertaining to interpretation of culture reports, antibiotic policy and antibiotic  audit for postgraduate students.
Secretary, DMCH Managing Society Prem Kumar Gupta said that the Department of Microbiology at DMCH has been  actively participated in conducting various  health awareness programs for the general public.
According to Dr Veenu Gupta, Professor & Head Department of Microbiology a CME based on the theme “Combating Antimicrobial Resistance” will also be conducted on 20th November. Dr Veenu said that the purpose of this week is to raise awareness for antimicrobial resistance and to encourage best practices among the general public, health care workers to avoid further infections. This year's theme for this week is “spread awareness, stop resistance”, says Dr Gupta.
