World Anaethesia Day celebrated at DMCH Ludhiana

Ludhiana, October 16, 2013: Dayanad Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana today celebrated World Anaesthesia Day.

Department of Anaesthesiology and Resuscitation of  Dr. Sunil Katyal, Prof. and Head of department elaborated the importance of the day, described the first successful demonstration of Anaesthesia by Dr. William. G. Morton in Boston on 16th October 1846.

Dr. Katyal also dwelt at length the important role played by an Anaesthesiologist in present day scenario even outside the operation theatres. The meeting was inaugurated by Prof. Daljit Singh, Principal of DMCH. Dr. Daljit Singh said that the role of Anaesthesiologists is far more important as they not only act as perioperative physicians but also Pain Specialists and Intensivits.

The cake was cut by Dr. Daljit Singh and Faculty members of department of anaesthesia and all pledged to be vigilant & compassionate Anaesthesiologists.  www.cityairnews.com
