Workshop organised by HAREDA in association with ASSOCHAM and DHBVN

Department New and Renewable Energy  (DNRE), Haryana, Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) in association with The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) organized a one day Workshop on the Demand Side Management(DSM) prospectives, for Distribution Companies'(DISCOMs')  with the objective of strengthening the capacity of DISCOMs', thereby enabling them to carry out effective DSM measures in their respective areas.

Chandigarh, March 1, 2023: Department New and Renewable Energy  (DNRE), Haryana, Haryana Renewable Energy Development Agency (HAREDA) in association with The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (ASSOCHAM) organized a one day Workshop on the Demand Side Management(DSM) prospectives, for Distribution Companies'(DISCOMs')  with the objective of strengthening the capacity of DISCOMs', thereby enabling them to carry out effective DSM measures in their respective areas.

 

Niraj, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Hisar was the chief guest for the program. Officials from DNRE, HAREDA, Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam(DHBVN) and representatives of various Government Departments participated in the workshop.


Sukhchain Singh, Project Manager, HAREDA highlighted initiatives of the Center and State Governments along with the role of DISCOMS' and its officers. 


Ravinder Singh Chandla, Regional Director, ASSOCHAM North highlighted initiatives of ASSOCHAM along with its  “GEM Sustainability (Green) Certification Program.”

 

Yogesh Sood, Project Associate, International Copper Association India spoke about Impact of Power Quality and various technical solutions for a DISCOM's Energy Efficiency. S.K. Singh, SE , DHBVN presented DSM case studies & Regulatory Prospective, while Shivanjan Sharma , PTC presented DSM case studies .

 

Additional Deputy Commissioner, Hisar highlighted the importance of a few global initiatives like Kyoto Protocol on climate change, The Doha Amendment extended Kyoto Protocol to 2020, The Paris Climate Agreement and various others and spoke about the role of DISCOMs' & DNRE in the current global scenario.

 

“Our goal for the current year and coming years will be to provide quality power to our public at an affordable price with a focus on interventions from renewable energy and energy conservation as a thrust area. We also invite all the stakeholders to participate in developing Haryana as a clean, green and energy efficient State,” he added.

 

Er. Rajnish Garg, Chief Engineer Operations-Hisar, DHBVN highlighted various mechanisms to promote DSM in DISCOMs.

 

Subhash Tanwar, Project Officer, Sh. Pradeep Malik, APO, Hisar, ASSOCHAM officials and SE, XEN, field SDO and JE of DHBVN were also present during the workshop.
