Workshop on topic of Enzyme Technology in University premises 

Chandigarh, May 18, 2022: The Department of Biotechnology, UIET, Panjab University held a workshop on the topic of Enzyme Technology in the University premises today. The workshop was conducted by Dr. Shailendra Arya. The keynote lecture was delivered by Professor Rizwan Hasan Khan from Aligarh Muslim University who was also the chief guest for the workshop. He delivered a detailed lecture on the structure and functioning of the proteins, their characterization, and techniques used to formulate recombinant proteins for commercial use. 
The other resource person, Professor Shamsher S. Kanwar, a senior professor from the Department of Biotechnology, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla. The main focus of professor Shamsher was on the immobilization and applications of the Lipase enzyme. He talked about various methods followed in order to immobilize the enzymes and their commercial application at industrial scale. A detailed description of Lipase enzyme, its functions and characteristics were the key takeaway points from his lecture. This was followed by the talk of Dr. Suheta Tikoo from Rayat and Bahara University. The focal point of her lecture was the different types of drug delivery systems that are available these days, mostly focused towards controlled drug delivery systems. About hundred participants including students,faculty and staff attended the workshop. The same was concluded with a vote of thanks by the Coordinator, Biotechnology.
