Workshop on energy efficiency for forging cluster organized at CICU

Ludhiana: CICU in collaboration with Price Water Cooper (PWC) and PEDA organized an inception workshop on Energy Efficiency for Forging Cluster.
Mr Upkar Singh Ahuja President CICU stressed the need for Industry to adopt latest techniques for saving energy in the enterprises. He said in todays cut throat competition we the enterprises fail to save on energy they can not sustain competition.
Mr Pankaj sharma Gen Sectretary CICU laid emphasis on various techniques of Energy savings in Forging Industry. In the recent years many new techniques have been developed by the experts which not only save energy and make them competitive but also helps in saving environment.
Mr. J.P Nair briefed about a year project launched by PWC for Forging Clusters of Industries in Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Moga and Phagwara and conveyed that free of cost energy audit will be conducted in forging units. Bench marks of specific consumption of energy will be established and deployment of those technologies will be doe, which have been implemented by some units after conducting energy audits.
Case Studies were shown about vanishing process in Heat Treatment furnaces. Billet heating furnaces by plasma & energy jamming in compressors by Kaizen compressors.
Mr. Gopi Kothari CMD Kay Jay Forgings Group of Industries motivated all to implement Energy saving techniques.
Mr. Surinder Mahendru, M.D Nicks group of Companies & President Punjab Forging Ind, Association assured PWC of all help from forging industries for successfully completion of project.
Mr. S.B Singh Joint Secty CICU, Mr Gopi Kothari, and Mr. Balkar Singh Joint Director PEDA participated and also highlighted the importance of energy saving in Forging Industries.
