Workshop on Food Quality at UIHTM

Chandigarh, April 4, 2019: University Institute of Hotel and Tourism Management (UIHTM), Panjab University conducted an orientation session for the Hostel Wardens and members of mess committees of various girls hostels regarding maintaining hygiene and improving quality in hostel kitchen and messes, here today.
This orientation session was inaugurated by Professor Emanual Nahar, Dean Student Welfare. He said that the students are the main stakeholders and they must be involved directly in the process of quality improvement. He appreciated the efforts of UIHTM in this regards. After the programme, the members of mess committees shall be provided a proforma of check list so that necessary actions can be taken for the betterment of kitchen hygiene added Prof. Nahar.
Dr. Prashant Gautam, Honorary Director, UIHTM, Dr. Neeraj Aggarwal, Asstt. Professor UIHTM, Chef Jaswinder Singh, Asstt. Professor UIHTM and Mr. Mohit, Manager, Barbeque Nation, Chandigarh) conducted the sessions.
In these sessions, the participants were given a brief about the food hygiene, personal hygiene, food contamination, do’s and dont’s of food handling.
