Workshop on effects of plastic on human health and environment
Giving the power point presentation, Akashdeep reveals that 3000000 plastic bottles are being produced every second Jalandhar, July 22, 2019: Kanya Maha Vidyalaya, Jalandhar, organised a workshop on 'Effects of Plastic on Human Health and Environment'. The workshop was organized in collaboration with Municipal Corporation, District Education Office and 'Roots for Being', Jalandhar. During the workshop, Akashdeep Singh, President and Kamaljit Kaur, General Secretary, Roots for Being addressed the students and made them aware of the dangerous consequences of using plastic disposables and other plastic items on the daily basis. Giving the power point presentation, Akashdeep revealed that 3000000 plastic bottles are being produced every second. Apart from this, he asserted the harm plastic is causing to the human health and how it can also lead to major health issues like cancer, infertility & hormone imbalance etc. He also motivated the students to bring a positive change in their daily habits of using plastic. Principal Prof.(Dr.) Atima Sharma Dwivedi averred about the need to save earth and also encouraged the students to promote awareness regarding such serious environmental issues. Dr Madhumeet, Dean Student Welfare, Sadhna Tandon and Veena Deepak were also present on the occasion.
