Workshop on drug de-addiction being held at CHC, Bara Pind (Phagwara) on Friday.

Phagwara, March 21, 2014: Community Health Centre (CHC), Bara Pind, on Friday organised a de-addiction workshop for creating awareness and sensitising youth and health workers here today at its campus.
Addressing the gathering, Senior Medical Officer Dr Balwinder Singh Kahlon said that drugs menace has become very much prevalent in our society. “This is leading to crime in society and economic crises in the affected families,” he said, adding that besides the repeated use of syringes is increasing HIV cases in the youth.  
Block Extension Educator Preetinder Singh said that health workers and educationists have special role in saving the society from this menace. Health Supervisor Jagat Ram Bhatti informed about de-addiction facilities available in the Punjab.
Government Senior Secondary School (Boys), Bara Pind, Lecturer Avtar Lal emphasised that mother should play special role in sensitising the children about drug menace.
