Women to get loans up to ₹5 lakh under Matrushakti Udyamita Yojana: DC Sachin Gupta

Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that the Haryana Government has launched the Matrushakti Udyamita Yojana to promote women entrepreneurship and strengthen the economic and social status of women. Under the scheme, eligible women can avail bank loans of up to ₹5 lakh to start self-employment ventures.

Rohtak, March 8, 2026: Deputy Commissioner Sachin Gupta said that the Haryana Government has launched the Matrushakti Udyamita Yojana to promote women entrepreneurship and strengthen the economic and social status of women. Under the scheme, eligible women can avail bank loans of up to ₹5 lakh to start self-employment ventures.

He said the scheme is being implemented through the Haryana Women Development Corporation. For the financial year 2025–26, a target of 48 cases has been fixed for Rohtak district.

DC Sachin Gupta informed that women with an annual family income below ₹5 lakh and who are permanent residents of Haryana are eligible to apply under the scheme. The age of the applicant should be between 18 and 60 years, and the applicant should not be a defaulter of any bank.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that women entrepreneurs who repay loan instalments on time will receive a 7% interest subsidy for three years, which will be provided by the Haryana Government through the Women Development Corporation.

He said the scheme covers a wide range of self-employment activities in the transport, service and small-scale industry sectors. Women can start ventures such as auto-rickshaw services, small goods carriers, e-rickshaws, taxi services, salons, beauty parlours, tailoring units, boutiques, photo studios, papad and pickle units, sweet shops, food stalls, ice-cream units, biscuit manufacturing, tiffin services and pottery units.

DC Sachin Gupta added that during the financial year 2024–25, a subsidy of ₹73,557 has already been provided to women beneficiaries in Rohtak district through the Haryana Women Development Corporation.

The Deputy Commissioner appealed to eligible women in the district to take advantage of the scheme, start their own enterprises and move towards self-reliance.
